About the role.

We are looking for a talented individual to join our growing team. You will be a key player within the Team, responsible for managing capital equipment and services purchases. You will utilise your procurement skills and experience to facilitate our customers through end-to-end procurement.

This unique role is dynamic and entrepreneurial, working closely with both our external customers and suppliers at operational and strategic levels. You will be central in delivering an excellent service to our customers who are working on ground-breaking innovations, such as cancer therapy, brain degeneration and more recently COVID-19 vaccine manufacture.

Our team provide an expert equipment-related procurement service to biotech customers in the UK and USA. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, experience, and knowledge in a supportive work environment whilst we also undergo an exciting period of growth as a business.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for supporting customers in the biotech sector with procurement of technical products
  • You will negotiate both repeat and one-off equipment purchases as well as equipment maintenance contracts
  • You will liaise with key stakeholders to determine product and service specifications required before investigating the market and managing the buying process, evaluating options to make the best value decisions for their business
  • You will become an expert in each equipment category, building your knowledge over time to provide real expertise and guide buying decisions
  • You will demonstrate effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence suppliers and customers

What are we looking for?

  • Proven procurement expertise from facilitation of user needs, tender management and facilitation of buying decision
  • An outgoing and tenacious individual with a strong sense of determination, who enjoys a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and is looking to make an impact on the overall business
  • You will have evident skills in influencing, communicating effectively and persuasively to a range of audiences, both internally and externally
  • You will have an inquisitive mindset, quick to get up to speed on any new topic or fill in gaps in knowledge
  • You will enjoy analysing the finer detail to support good quality judgements and decisions
  • You must be willing to work flexible hours supporting our customers in the USA
  • Understanding of the life sciences and/or biotech industry
  • Commercial awareness and an analytical mindset
