About the role.

We are looking for an ambitious individual with scientific experience and a desire to work in a more commercial role. This unique role is dynamic and entrepreneurial, working closely with both our customers and suppliers at operational and strategic levels.

You will be central in supporting customers setting up or expanding their laboratories, facilitating their equipment procurement needs from project creation through to installation on-site. You will utilise your scientific knowledge and experience to support our customers through their equipment buying journey.

This role would suit an outgoing individual who enjoys consulting with customers to understand their detailed needs, using their judgement to assess options, and negotiating the best package with suppliers.

Our team provides an expert equipment procurement service to biotech customers in the UK and USA, from one-off equipment purchases to large tender projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, experience, and knowledge in a supportive work environment whilst we also undergo an exciting period of growth as a business.

What will you be doing?

  • You will become an expert in the laboratory equipment category and supplier market
  • You will consult with customers to understand their needs, identify equipment specifications required
  • You will support the customer in evaluating options to make the best value decisions for their business
  • You will be committed to continuous learning, developing your skills and the impact you can make
  • You will enjoy pivoting from building rapport and influence with customers and suppliers through to examining the fine detail of procurement options
  • You will demonstrate effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence suppliers and customers

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant work experience within the life sciences and/or biotech industry
  • An outgoing and tenacious individual with a strong sense of determination, who enjoys a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about their contribution to the overall business
  • Experience of managing and delivering projects with excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to work to deadlines and flex to changing priorities
  • You will have evident skills in influencing, communicating effectively and persuasively to a range of audiences, both internally and externally
  • You will have an inquisitive mindset, quick to get up to speed on any new topic or fill in gaps in knowledge
  • You will enjoy analysing the finer details allowing you to evaluate options and make high quality judgements and decisions
  • You must be willing to work flexible hours supporting our customers in the USA
