About the Role

Technology underpins everything we do at Amici Procurement, enabling our amazing team of purchasing and supply chain specialists to support some of the most exciting and important work in the Biotech industry.

We are embarking on a new phase of development to create the next generation of our MyAmici product as part of a multi-year plan of growth for the business, and are looking for a Technical Architect to join the Innovation Team to support this.

This is a hands-on role, mixing both strategy and development. You will have the opportunity to work with modern technology stack using the best of Microsoft Azure, and be part of growing the team to meet our ambitious plans.

What will you be doing?

Customer Centric Design

  • Develop and then maintain domain knowledge based on customer use-cases, industry good practice, and relevant regulations
  • Develop and evaluate architecture and design options that support the delivery of business goals and roadmap priorities

Engineering and Delivery

  • Act as a senior role model for the Engineering team on good practice and supporting team development
  • Deliver high-quality code using Agile and Test Driven Development methodologies and practices
  • Turn functional and non-functional requirements into well-structured software that meets the needs of the business
  • Participation in requirements review sessions (“Three Amigos”) with Business Analysts and QA Engineers
  • Develop complex database queries, views, triggers and functions
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in pair programming sessions, acting as a mentor to develop good practice
  • Ability to assess the impact of changes on our systems and infrastructure
  • Document your code both technically and to support operational maintenance
  • Proactively drive architectural and process improvement opportunities as part of continual improvement activities
  • Carry out product and solution sourcing, assessment and selection where third-party products or services will benefit the Amici Procurement business

Operational Support

  • Support the smooth transition of software into production
  • Provide third-level support for production software during business hours

What are we looking for?

  • Over eight (8) years professional development experience – ideally in C# or Java
  • Over five (5) years of architecture experience in a software-powered business or consulting setting
  • Professional experience with a modern JavaScript web framework (VueJS, React, Angular, Blazor WebAssembly, etc)
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment using modern DevOps practices
  • Computer Science degree, Software Engineering degree, or evidence of equivalent industry experience
  • Experience with writing automated tests (e.g. NUnit, Jest, etc)
  • Experience working with databases, both relational (e.g SQLServer, Postgres, MySQL, etc ) and non-relational (e.g. MongoDB, CosmoDB, etc)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of developing strong, long term relationships with business and technology stakeholders
  • Well-developed influencing and decision making skills, showing clear leadership when it comes to driving out the definition of a problem and its solution
